Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7 have a new DEP (Data Execution Prevention) feature which is not compatible with v5.x and earlier versions of the FolderView, FileView and ShComboBox ActiveX controls. This prevents the controls from being registered and used on these operating systems.
Versions 6.0 and later of the ActiveX controls do not have this issue and can be registered and used on Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Note : Only applies to v5.x and earlier of FolderView, FileView and ShComboBox ActiveX controls on Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7. This issue is not present in any version of the .Net edition of Shell MegaPack. |
