When using the default view (listview) for a namespace extension, Windows Explorer caches information about each folder in the namespace extension, such as the visible columns in the folder and the viewstyle of the folder. If, during development, new columns are added, Windows Explorer may not show them unless the cached information is deleted. To clear this information, click on the 'Tools' menu and select the 'Options..' menu item. Then click on the 'View' tab in the shown dialog box and click the 'Reset All Folders' button. This deletes the cached information, and it will be retrieved afresh the next time the namespace extension is browsed.
Note
Clearing the cached information is necessary only during development. Once the namespace extension stabilizes and enters production mode, this is not necessary. |
