liquidFOLDERS
liquidFOLDERS is a relational file system for Microsoft Windows. Instead of putting files in directories, liquidFOLDERS enables its users to save their data in "stores" which work like a relational database. liquidFOLDERS achieves what Microsoft tried with their now abandoned WinFS project.

Problem

Since the liquidFOLDERS file system stores its data in a db, the creators were looking for a way for existing and legacy applications to load and save data to the db via the commonly used file dialogs as also a method to browse the db via Windows Explorer.

Solution

liquidFOLDERS is a relational file system, where users don't need a directory tree anymore, but save their files in a store that works just like a relational database. But then the challange arised how to get legacy applications work with our stores, as the users' files now 'live' outside the Windows file system. Enter namespace extensions: LogicNP's product enabled us to rapidly develop an add-on for liquidFOLDERS that now integrates neatly into the Windows Explorer and legacy applications. We've got the basics done in about a week, something that would have taken considerably longer without EZNamespaceExtensions. Well done, guys!"
