Company Information
MuvEnum is the developer of MuvAudio, a next generation program that
performs super-fast conversion of all audio files, even those which other programs would choke on.
MuvAudio2C converts the audio of most audio/video files which are playable
by Windows Media Player into MP3, WMA, OGG, MP4, FLAC, WAV and many other
formats. MuvAudio2C takes real-time recording to the next level by allowing
recording speeds up to 10x* real-time, giving digital quality conversions,
incredible speed, and the ability to take your music wherever your music
player takes you.
Problem
Requirement of UI controls which provide complete Windows Explorer like UI functionality, look, feel and behavior.
Solution
The Shell MegaPack control suite helped MuvAudio to easily create an "Add File"
dialog. Being one of the most important
interaction aspects of the program, the default .NET folder and file dialogs
did not provide the developers with a method that their users users would be comfortable
with using. By switching to the LogicNP Software components they were able to
recreate an "Explorer"-like interface that allows their users to choose the
files and folders (recursively searches the folders for valid files) they
want to add to their playlist in the easiest way possible. This eliminated
the need for them to use one dialog for adding specific files and another
dialog for adding folders.
These are some comments from Mr.
John Rennemeyer
,
President of
MuvEnum:
"By using the Shell MegaPack components we were
able to cut our time to add this feature from weeks down to hours, it was
just that easy (we may have not been able to add this functionality at all
within the timeframe we had given ourselves)! We tried other components
from other companies and we spent more time trying to get them to add the
basic features we needed when the LogicNP Software components had every feature
we needed; easy synchronization of the combobox and fileview, Vista folder
thumbnail support (a definite plus for showing previews of items in the
folders), and more, which we continue to find useful and implement in future
versions of our products. If you're a software developer, the LogicNP Software
components are no-brainer. They saved us money and time, which when you're
a small company trying to make a name for yourself, these kinds of things
are what you have the least of."
