Shell MegaPack ActiveX & .Net minor update released.

An update for Shell MegaPack ActiveX and Shell MegaPack .Net has been released. This minor update has some bugfixes and some new functionality in the .Net version. The version number has remained the same ( 7.0.0.0), however the build number ( seen in the About Box ) has changed to 551831. Download the latest release from the Download Page.

This update has the following new features and bugfixes :

Shell MegaPack ActiveX

FolderView

• UserData property did not work for non-bitable data types.
• UserData property for custom nodes did not work.
• Crash occurred when invalid data in HDROP format was dragged over FolderView.

FileView

• UserData property did not work for non-bitable data types.
• UserData property for custom items did not work.
• Crash occurred when invalid data in HDROP format was dragged over FileView.
• The default dragdrop action when dragging within FileView was copy, which resulted in advertent copies.
• In Thumbnail View, red colors in thumbnails were shown as black.

ShellObjects

• UserData property of ShellPopup did not work for non-bitable data types.
• GripperColor and GripperColor2 properties take desired documented effect.
• ShellPopup gripper bar dots in Office2003 style are not displayed if AllowDrag property is False.
• ShellPopup colors are automatically updated when the system colors change.
• New MinimizeToTray and MaximizeFromTray methods allows a form to be minimized/maximized from tray with corresponding animation.

Shell MegaPack.Net

FolderView

• Crash occurred when invalid data in HDROP format was dragged over FolderView.
• New property, QueryHasSubFolders, controls whether queries are made to determine whether folders have subfolders ( used to display the (+) sign ). For network folders, disabling this can increase the speed of FolderView.

FileView

• Crash occurred when invalid data in HDROP format was dragged over FileView.
• The default dragdrop action when dragging within FileView was copy, which resulted in advertent copies.
• In Thumbnail View, red colors in thumbnails were shown as black.
• New helper methods, PIDLFromPath, GetSpecialFolderPIDL and PIDLConcat methods added to Utilities class.
• New event, HeaderRightClick, fires when column headers in Details mode are right clicked.

ShellObjects

• GripperColor and GripperColor2 properties take desired documented effect.
• ShellPopup gripper bar dots in Office2003 style are not displayed if AllowDrag property is False.
• BackImageIsTransparent and LogoImageIsTransparent take the desired documented effect.
• ShellPopup colors are automatically updated when the system colors change.
• New MinimizeToTray and MaximizeFromTray methods allows a form to be minimized/maximized from tray with corresponding animation.
• Improved design-time support for the ImageIndex and ImageList properties of ShellNotifyIcon makes it easy to add/remove icons which will be displayed in the shell tray notification area.
